HOPES Foundation Hosts 24th AGM and Scholarship Ceremony 2026, Advancing Its Mission of Education and Empowerment

To reaffirm its unwavering commitment to education, empowerment, and social awareness, the HOPES Foundation successfully organized its 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026 and Scholarship Distribution Ceremony on January 09, 2026. The grand event took place at the Multipurpose Hall of the Soil Resource Development Institute (SRDI) on Khamarbari Road, Dhaka.
The ceremony was graced by the executive committee members of the HOPES Foundation, advisory board members, donors, promoters, scholars, and a distinguished galaxy of invited guests.

The event commenced with a solemn recitation from the Holy Quran. Following this, Dr. Sohela Akhter, General Secretary of the HOPES Foundation, presented an insightful overview of the organization, highlighting its vision, mission, and the landmark achievements of the past year. Professor Dr. M. Afzal Hossain, the visionary of HOPES, delivered a brief yet profound speech reflecting on the founding history, foundational goals, and the inspiring background of the organization.
At the beginning of the AGM, esteemed advisors Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder and Professor Dr. M. A. Sattar Mandal delivered motivational and guidance-oriented speeches dedicated to the scholars. Furthermore, other respected advisors, guests, donors, and promoters shared their valuable insights and experiences, injecting a new wave of enthusiasm into the students to pursue their dreams.
Scholarship Distribution to Meritorious Scholars
One of the key highlights of the event was the distribution of scholarships to the meritorious and deserving scholars of the HOPES Foundation. During this segment, esteemed members, advisors, donors, and invited guests of HOPES presented the scholarship funds to the students.
Through this noble initiative, HOPES Foundation reiterated its long-standing pledge to support underprivileged yet brilliant students in seamlessly advancing their educational journeys.
Honouring Successful HOPES Promoters
A large number of former HOPES scholars, after completing their higher education, are now successfully holding key professional positions across the country. Many of them remain actively involved in various initiatives of HOPES, contributing significantly to the organization's progressive stride.
In recognition of their outstanding professional achievements, career excellence, and continuous contribution to HOPES, three distinguished promoters were honored with Crests of Appreciation.
The Honored Alumni (Ex-Scholars):
Md. Gaziul Haque — BCS (Agriculture), Upazila Agriculture Officer, Nandigram, Bogura.
Md. Atikur Rahman — AGM, Shamsuddin Spinning Mills Limited, Shafipur, Kaliakair, Gazipur.
Dr. Md. Abu Sayed — Professor, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dinajpur.
The prestigious awards were presented by Enayetuddin Md. Kaiser Khan (President, HOPES), Professor Dr. M. Afzal Hossain (Former President, HOPES), Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder (Advisor), and Dr. Sohela Akhter (General Secretary).
The organizers expressed high optimism that such recognitions would further solidify the bonding between former and current scholars and deeply inspire the new generation of students.
The 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Following the scholarship and award session, the formal proceedings of the 24th AGM of HOPES Foundation commenced. After the presentation of the General Secretary’s report, Dr. Roushan Ara Begum placed the financial report for the FY 2025–2026 and the proposed budget for the FY 2026–2027 before the house. Both reports and the budget were unanimously approved by the members.
Consequent to the renaming of 'HOPES Society' to 'HOPES Foundation,' a 7-member committee was formed to amend the organization’s Memorandum of Association, By-Laws, and Constitution. The committee was headed by Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder as the convenor, with the following members:

Professor Dr. M. Zahiruddin
Md. Rafiqul Haque
Dr. Sohela Akhter
Professor Dr. Md. Hasan Ali
On behalf of the committee, Professor Dr. Nur Mohammad Talukder presented the proposed constitutional amendment report. Following a detailed discussion, the amendments were unanimously approved by the general body.
According to the newly amended constitution, the tenure of the Executive Committee has been extended from two to three years, and the total number of members has been increased to 25. Furthermore, instead of holding a traditional election, it was resolved to form the 25-member Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 tenure through mutual consensus and discussion, which was passed with the unanimous consent of all present members.
Closing Remarks by the President
In the concluding session of the event, the re-elected President of the HOPES Foundation, Enayetuddin Md. Kaiser Khan, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the respected advisors, members, donors, promoters, guests, and scholars for their active presence and steadfast support.
He extended a special vote of thanks to Dr. Begum Samia Sultana, Director General of SRDI, for kindly providing the venue facilities for this significant gathering.
In conclusion, wishing good health, happiness, prosperity, and success to all present, the President officially declared the successful conclusion of the 24th Annual General Meeting of the HOPES Foundation.
The event concluded with a renewed vow that HOPES Foundation will firmly continue its philanthropic activities in the future, fostering education, humanitarian values, and holistic social development.
